Mikhail Brendychev

Born in Russia, Mikhail attended the Academy of the Arts and graduated as an Artist and cabinet maker. Mikhail quickly gained recognition for his fine work and it wasn’t long before he was commissioned to carve the interior of two monastery chapels and numerous churches in Russia.
In 1998, Mikhail was invited to Australia to carve the alter frames of the Russian Orthodox Church in Brunswick, Melbourne and has remained in Australia taking up permanent residency with his family.
For the last 20 years he has been employed in the Darebin district making luxury furniture for Mortice and Tenon and Charles Sandford in Preston.
In his spare time Mikhail makes export quality icon boards for Uriel’s Workshop and is completing the interior wood carving for “Mary Quick to Hear” Genuine Greek Orthodox Church in Glenhuntly.
