Blessing of the icon of the Canticle of Creation, a hymn written 800 years ago this year by St Francis of Assisi. This icon was commissioned to commemorate this event as well as the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical on care for the Earth, titled Laudato Si.
It was blessed at the Good Shepherd Parish in Plumpton, NSW and used in the celebration of the Feast of St Francis.

Thursday classes.... have been an enjoyable way of learning and developing skills in iconography. We have finished for the year and hope to pick up again in the new year.

Feast of the Nativity

Mary travelled deep into the experience common to women who bring forth a new person out of their own bodies, even at the rish of their own lives. Real blood was shed at this delivery, by a poor woman of peasant society far from home, labouring in childbirth for the first time. And it was holy.

Eirene, Lisa and Mary wish you all the blessings of the Christmas season.
May love be born within and among us……..
